Situated in one of the most picturesque locations on the northern shores of the island of Korčula, this luxury villa offers its guests a rustic feeling with all the ultra-modern amenities imaginable.
Villa Marina was finished in 2014, and during its construction attention was given to every single detail. In order to preserve the natural setting and provide guests with the ultimate island experience, the villa was carefully placed among centennial olive and fig trees which now offer natural shade on those hot summer days. It is precisely this combination of old and new which makes villa Marina an exceptional place to spend your next holidays. While resting in the swimming pool area, guests can refresh themselves with organic figs at hand's reach, and from the olive trees you are surrounded by the owners produce extra-virgin cold-pressed olive oil which you will get to enjoy as well.
From practically every point in and outside of the house, there are unobstructed views of the Adriatic Sea, reaching across to the island of Hvar and the Pelješac peninsula. Just underneath the house, there is a private pier with reclining chairs, and the large beach in the centre of Prigradica is only several minutes away on foot.See location on Google map
Each of the three spacious bedrooms on the second floor has a king-size bed and its own private balcony. The master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom, and there is an additional bathroom on that floor. The spacious living and dining areas, together with twinroom, another bathroom and a guest toilet, are located on the first floor. Additionally, on the ground floor next to the swimming pool you will find a konoba, which is a traditional space for storing wine, olive oil and produce, however with a modern twist of a fully equipped kitchen, a dining area and an extra toilet.
Apart from the trees surrounding the premises, two patios are located on the ground and first floors, and three balconies on the second floor. On one side of villa, there is a traditional barbecue grill, and there are several areas with some authentic herbs and plants which provide a wonderful scent associated only with a genuine Mediterranean site.

The quiet old fishing port of Prigradica has a couple of restaurants and a grocery store. It is an excellent starting point to explore the rest of the island, such as the historic town of Blato, whose trademark is the second longest linden tree alleyin Europe, right after the one in Berlin. There is a multitude of hiking and cycling routes on the island, many of which can be accessed from the port of Prigradica. The town of Korčula, originating in the 10th century, is a true gem. Reachable within only 30 minutes by car from the villa, this fortified town is one of the best testimonials to the rich Croatian history, and boasts a variety of dining and shopping options.
In the island's inland, there are several old towns definitely worth a visit, such as Smokvica, Žrnovo and Čara, which are surrounded by vineyards and which offer some excellent gastronomic experiences. It is also recommended to undertake a day trip to the island of Lastovo, which is protected as a park of nature and the farthest from the coast inhabited island in Croatia.
For guests who arrive at the island of Korčula without a vehicle, transfer can be organised to Villa Marina. Rent-a-car services can be arranged as well.
Our hosts helped promptly with all queries regarding the villa prior to our arrival & on the actual arrival day were waiting for us to welcome us with refreshments & a generous platter of local specialities. After explaining the villa & providing local info, they left us to enjoy our stay, yet were available with help whenever we contacted. The house is new with all mod cons. Along with practical elements it also has lovely art & furniture to give it personality. The bedrooms have balconies & coupled with generous living spaces & terraces, there is plenty of space for everyone to be social as well as find personal space to read etc. The bathrooms are well appointed. In particular, we appreciated the A/C as the units were all properly working & well positioned in the bedrooms, so that it was cool, but you did not have a draught pointing at your head as has happened in other places! We enjoyed using the outdoor grill/bbq as we prefer this, but both indoor kitchens were well equipped. The pool was set at 30 degrees & was used night & day since there was outdoor lighting. The pool also had a nice private feel as surrounded by olive trees so you can peek out over the edge & look out to the sea. The villa is elevated & whether in or outside, there are super views looking out to Hvar island, the Peljesac peninsula & the mainland in the distance. Beachside, they have a paved area for their loungers & there is a ladder to access/exit easily the sea – it was nice & quiet & lots of opportunities to snorkel. Prigradica is a little quiet village & it is easy to walk (or swim!) round to its centre where there are bistros, a bar and a little grocery store. In addition the public beach is nice & safe with friendly locals & other visitors. We had a car & visited Blato, Vela Luka & Korcula town as well as vineyards, but if you wanted to be car-free, this location has everything to hand (direct catamaran service from Split) that you could stay put & simply enjoy the villa.
We spent five wonderful weeks in the house of Marina and Miro. We were lucky to be the first ones to rent it after its completion, so everything was literally brand new. There are four sleeping rooms, each decorated in a different flavour. The very tasteful interior decoration with impressive pictures of Croatian artists makes you feel very comfortable. The air condition helps you to withstand even the hottest day. You can use two fridges, as there is another kitchen in the so called "Konoba" downstairs. In front of the Konoba the pool is situated. It is not very large, but you will be refreshed afterwards.
As for the cleaning of the house: The owners take care of it according to your wishes and for the final cleaning as well.
The landscape is terrific, you are overlooking two little islands and the access to the beach leads down through a little wood via steps. You can enter the sea with the help of a ladder. Two tavernas in Prigradiza are in walking distance, offering very typical Croatian food, dominated by fish. But you can prepare your own one outside the house with the typical charcoal grill.
The closest by village is Blato, where you can find supermarkets and all other necessary shops. The village of Korcula, after which the island is named, is about 40 minutes car ride away.
Which enquiries or questions you have, Miro will take care of it immediately.
We can only recommend this spacious and luxurious holiday home and will definitely go there again some day.
